Michael started his vocational training as a workman in 1979. He learned the profession of a mechanic for building machines and worked as a crane driver. We built mainly housing departments for seniors. He was 1982-1983 for the military service. In the year 1983 he started to study surface engineering at the school of engineering for building and construction industry. After a successful conclusion of the studies he worked as a technologist in the “Hoch- & Tiefbau GmbH Sömmerda”. We built multifamily houses and industrial buildings of all sorts of types. In 1989 he changed to the company house building Sömmerda and worked as a site supervisor. In 1990 Mr. Kumst got his professional registration and opened his engineering office. Extensive joint ventures with other architects characterized its work. Fulfilled he the prerequisites to the entry into the architect list therefore after 7 years further education.
Michael disposes about experiences in all areas of the surface engineering and as a generalist. There has been his enterprise now for over 16 years until today.

Gitta started her vocational training in 1981. She learned the profession of Architectural draughtswoman and worked in a large planning office for surface engineering. The main emphasis was on the industrial house building. In the year 1983 she started to study surface engineering at the school of engineering for building and construction industry. After a successful conclusion of the studies she worked as a technologist and a Employee estimate of costs and cost controll in the “Hoch- & Tiefbau GmbH Sömmerda”. We built multifamily houses and industrial buildings of all sorts of types. In 1991 Gitta goes to the engineering office from Michael Kumst as employee for project planning, advertising, value inquiry, making cost control and customer service.
1997-2000 she worked also as technical manager in a building company. She founded 2001 her own firm Innovative Building systems. 2003 She comes back in the office from her husband as CAD-engineer and all the things in a modern Architecture office.
